Perry plays a sports talk radio host named Ryan King, who goes to counseling to deal with the death of his wife.  The former Friends star says his character is more developed than the sports arena manager he played on the short-lived ABC comedy Mr. Sunshine in 2011.

Perry explains, “I gravitate towards sort of broken characters, who try to be better people.  And that setup is just better here, first of all.  That guy was sort of in a bad mood and no one really knew why, and this guy has had you know, some very dramatic things happen to him.”

Go On also stars John Cho and former Everybody Hates Chris actor Tyler James Williams.  Tuesday’s episode will be followed by the official debut of another new NBC comedy, The New Normal, and the fourth-season premiere of Parenthood, featuring guest star Ray Romano.
