(NEW YORK) — The NHL announced Wednesday, it has cancelled all preseason games scheduled up to September 30.
This comes on the heals of the NHL collective bargaining agreement between the NHL and the NHLPA running out last Saturday at midnight.
Steve Fehr, who provides special counsel to the NHLPA, and NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly have been in communication, but formal talks haven’t begun again.
Also, ESPNNewYork.com sources said league staffers would have their salaries cut by 20 percent and would be switched to a four day work schedule, starting October 1.
