Saturday was the third straight day that both sides spoke by phone but did not strike a deal on the table.  This is now the fourth work stoppage in the NHL since 1992.

The last lockout, during the 2004-05 season, washed away the entire season.  Questions still remain if this season will also be erased as well.  One player agent, Scott Norton, has voiced his opinion, telling Forbes.com that this lockout could last atleast a year and half.

Training camps were scheduled to open next week but that does not appear to be happening.  The regular season is scheduled to begin Oct. 11, but that also appears unlikely.
