Peek, 62, has 41 years of refereeing experience, 13 in Division-1, and was a part of the 2001 replacement official crew. He spoke with ESPN about the final call on Sunday. Peek is also an economics teacher at a local Community College in Athens, Texas.

“It was a call that will live in infamy,” said Peek.  “It depends really a lot where you are from, if you’re Seattle, you probably thought it was the most glorious call ever, and if you were from Green Bay, you thought it was the most horrendous call ever.”

Overall, how does he think the replacement officials did in three weeks of work in the NFL this year?

“I can only really speak for the crew that I was on,” said Peek.  “I thought we did a really good job.”

If he had the chance to do it all over again, would he?

“It was a great opportunity it was a dream,” “You always want to be at the top of your game.”
