(NEW YORK) — Fiona Apple has been arrested on drug possession charges in Texas, TMZ.com is reporting. The Hudspeth County Sherriff’s Office tells the gossip website that authorities found hashish and marijuana during a “routine” search of the singer’s tour bus on Wednesday night at a U.S. Border Patrol check point in Sierra Blanca.
Police tell TMZ said that border patrol agents boarded Apple’s bus where their drug-sniffing dog led them to a blue backpack, which “contained a glass container with .01 pounds of weed and .01 pounds of hash.”
If you’re not familiar with drug weight, .01 pound of marijuana is about the size of a baseball, while .01 pounds of hash is around the size of a golf ball. Authorities added that the singer “freely admitted” that the drugs were hers. Apple was then arrested and spent the night at the Hudspeth County Jail. She was released on Thursday on $10,000 bond.
The Sierra Blanca border stop is no stranger to busting celebrities for drug possession. Rapper Snoop Dogg, country legend Willie Nelson and actor Armie Hammer have all been arrested there over the past few years.
