The All-Star has been out since May 30 after undergoing surgery to remove scar tissue over a nerve in his left groin area.

Despite his immense talent, Tulowitzki has struggled with durability issues in the past. He missed 19 games last season, 40 games in 2011, and 61 games in 2008.

When he’s on the field though, Tulowitzki just might be the most talented shortstop in all of baseball. While Tulowitzki’s bat has sorely been missed in the middle of the Rockies lineup, his replacement has been putting up impressive numbers. Rookie Josh Rutledge has hit .331 with seven home runs since taking over the Tulowitzki. He is expected to slide over to second base when Tulowitzki returns.

In 47 games this season, Tulowitizki hit .287 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs.
