Sabathia Strikes Out 10 as Yankees Defeat Twins, 8-2

Al Bello/Getty Images(MINNEAPOLIS)– Yankees starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia struck out ten batters over eight innings of work as New York (90-65) defeated the Minnesota Twins (65-91) on Wednesday, 8-2.  The 32-year-old Sabathia tossed 118 pitches, allowing two earned runs on six hits.

Second Baseman Robinson Cano gave the Yankees the lead in the third with a two-run double off of Twins reliever Brian Duensing. Outfielder Curtis Granderson would add a two-run triple as New York would score six runs in the frame.

The Yankees have now won 12 of their last 16 games.
