Getty S 092312 Kyle%20Rudolph?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1348440089420Hannah Foslien/Getty Images(MINNEAPOLIS) — Christian Ponder threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns while running for another to lead the Minnesota Vikings to a 24-13 upset of the San Francisco 49ers.

The second-year quarterback hit tight end Kyle Rudolph in the first quarter for the first of his two touchdowns to give the Vikings (2-1) the lead that they would hold for the entire game.  Rudolph had five catches for 36 yards and two touchdowns.

Adrian Peterson had 25 carries for 86 yards against the 49ers’ strong run defense.

The 49ers (2-1) made a late charge in the second half, but they turned the ball over three times in the fourth quarter.

Alex Smith passed for 204 yards with a touchdown and an interception.  Frank Gore rushed for 63 yards but also had a costly fumble.

Randy Moss played against his former team for the first time in the regular season but was held to three catches for 27 yards.
