(IDAHO CITY) – A volunteer firefighter is facing felony arson charges for starting a wildfire near Robie Creek. Officials in Boise County say 18-year-old Nathanial Fay Bartholomew intentionally started the fire along a roadway late Monday afternoon. The blaze quickly spread to a home nearby and threatened more than 100 additional residences Tuesday, forcing several evacuations. The fire has charred more than 250 acres. Red Cross officials have set up an aid station in Idaho City for evacuees. Bartholomew’s preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 1.
