WeTV’s Vincent Herbert: I Never Wanted ‘To Be in Someone’s TV Show’

As the manager of Lady Gaga and the husband of reality star and singer Tamar Braxton, Herbert is more comfortable out of the spotlight. Still, with his new reality show, WeTV’s Tamar and Vince, where he stars along with his wife, he’ll have to get used to it. The new series premieres Thursday.
“It’s still overwhelming because I’m still very much a shy person,” the 42-year-old music executive told ABC News Radio, “but when you’re involved with someone you love…you just do things because you love people.”
“I’ve never wanted to be in the spotlight or be in someone’s TV show,” he continued.
And Herbert is definitely in love with his outspoken wife, Braxton, the breakout star on WeTV’s Braxton Family Values. Now, the network in its first spin-off ever wants to focus cameras on the youngest Braxton sister and her marriage to Herbert.
The 35-year-old singer said it was different filming without her older sisters. “I found myself missing them a whole lot. It was just difficult because I have other friends outside of my sisters, but those are really my best friends,” she admitted.
Tamar and Vince follows the couple as they navigate their life in Los Angeles and Braxton’s budding music career. In the premiere episode, viewers can see Braxton in the studio working on songs for her upcoming untitled album.
“Honestly, these are great records, and I’m not just saying that because they’re mine,” Braxton tells ABC News Radio. “If they were not mine I would want them to be mine. I do feel like this is my best work yet.”
Herbert, of course, is executive producing the album. Still, that doesn’t mean he wants to put expanding his family on the back burner. On the series, the couple also struggles with having a baby, with Braxton being faced with the fact that she might have to undergo fertility treatments. Ultimately, the singer decided to focus on her career.
“It was definitely hard because you want a family,” Herbert said in regards to waiting to have kids, “but it has to be our time and not just my timing.”
For now, the couple is focused on their careers and their marriage. “We’re still learning in our relationship how to communicate, how to understand each other,” Herbert told ABC News Radio. “And then you’re constantly growing up and changing,” Braxton added, finishing his sentence.
WeTV’s Tamar and Vince premieres Thursday, Sept. 20 at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
