The Scarlet Knights forced five UConn turnovers and throttled the Huskies, 19-3 on Saturday afternoon at High Point Solutions Stadium.

Rutgers (5-0, 2-0 Big East) is having their best season since 2007. The Scarlet Knights rushed for 123 yards, including 110 yards on 28 carries from Jawan Jamison.

The Scarlet Knight defense picked off UConn (3-3, 0-1 Big East) quarterback Chandler Whitmer four times, including a one that was returned for a touchdown in the fourth quarter that iced the game for Rutgers.

Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova went 18 of 27 for 157 yards and a touchdown to Mark Harrison and no interceptions. The Scarlet Knights won easily despite gaining only 280 yards of offense.

The defense for Rutgers was tough against the run, allowing only 53 Huskie rushing yards on the afternoon. UConn could only manage a 19-yard field goal from Chad Christen.

Rutgers will look to stay undefeated when they play Syracuse next weekend.
