The lawsuit was led by Christopher Johnson and Nathaniel Claybrooks, both of whom are African-American.  They claimed they weren’t given a fair shake during auditions for The Bachelor.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a federal judge dismissed the complaint on Monday, ruling that casting decisions and the resulting “end product” are both protected by the First Amendment.

The lawsuit had sought the implementation of policies that would better enable African-Americans to participate in The Bachelor, as well as punitive damages and attorney’s fees.
