Angels’ Albert Pujols Has Minor Surgery On Right Knee
Published at(ANAHEIM, Calif.) — Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee last week, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Thursday. The club confirmed the report, calling it a minor procedure.
The Angels expect him to be ready for the start of spring training next season.
The three-time National League MVP signed a 10-year, $254 million free-agent contract with the Halos last off-season. In his first year in the American League, the 32-year-old Pujols batted .285 with 30 home runs and 105 RBIs in 154 games.
