(BOSTON) — The Boston Celtics signed guard Leandro Barbosa to a one-year deal Wednesday,according to a league source.
The 6-foot-3 Brazilian has averaged 12.5 points, 2.4 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game during his nine seasons in the NBA.
Barbosa has been brought in a day after the C’s released guards Dionte Christmas and Jamar Smith. He will join the Celtics’ backcourt that includes Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley.
Last season Barbosa played for the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors, playing in 64 games and averaging 11.1 points per game.
