“Cloud Atlas,” Three Other Movies Open Nationwide

Cloud Atlas: The drama, adapted from the novel of the same name, connects various stories to explore how an act of kindness can have an impact over the course of centuries.  The cast members — which include Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving and Jim Sturgess — play multiple roles.  The film was co-directed by the Wachowski siblings and Tom Tykwer.  Rated R.  [Click here to read a review]

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D: A teenage girl haunted by the disappearance of her father faces danger in a demonic world.  Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Radha Mitchell, Carrie-Ann Moss and Malcolm McDowell star.  Rated R.

Fun Size: Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice plays a high school senior who loses the little brother she was asked to babysit on Halloween night.  Chelsea Handler also stars in this comedy.  Rated PG-13.

Chasing Mavericks: Gerard Butler plays a surfer who takes a 15-year-old under his wing as they attempt to ride one of the biggest waves in the world, in Northern California.  John Weston, Elisabeth Shue and Abigail Spencer also star.  Rated PG.  [Click here to read a review]
