“Dancing with the Stars” Recap: Joey Fatone Eliminated

ABC 100312 DWTSFatone? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1349252372203ABC/ADAM TAYLOR(LOS ANGELES) — Joey Fatone apparently wasn’t in sync with Dancing with the Stars viewers.  The former ‘NSYNC singer and his partner, Kym Johnson, were eliminated from the ABC competition’s all-star season on Tuesday night.

Fatone seemed almost indifferent about the outcome of the results show, saying, “As long as I had fun, I don’t care what your votes say.”

Twenty-four hours earlier, Fatone and Johnson danced a silent film-inspired quickstep.  It’s clear the viewers’ votes — or the relative lack thereof — were Fatone’s undoing, because he ranked ahead of Kelly Monaco, Kirstie Alley, and last-place celebrity Bristol Palin on the leader board.

Fatone and Johnson were joined by Helio Castroneves and Chelsie Hightower in the bottom two on Tuesday night, but the race car driver and his partner will return to the ballroom next week.

The results show welcomed back past contestant Katherine Jenkins, who duetted with fellow opera singer Placido Domingo on his song “Come What May.”  Nineteen-year-old British pop star Cher Lloyd was also on hand to perform her single “Want U Back.”

The competition resumes Monday on ABC.  As revealed by host Tom Bergeron on the results show, two couples will go home next week.
