(DETROIT) –Detroit Tigers designated Hitter Delmon Young was named the MVP of the AL Championship Series.
The 27-year-old Young hit .353 with two home runs and six RBIs in the Tigers four game sweep of the New York Yankees.
“Some balls just found holes and found a way to look good,” Young said when commenting on his ALCS offensive performance. “I was just trying to put a good swing and see a few pitches up there.”
Young became the first player to ever knock in what proved to be the game winning run in all four games of a postseason series, according to STATS LLC.
