(HOWE, ID) — At least six buildings were destroyed following a fire in Howe Tuesday. Authorities say the fire started at about 3:30 p.m. and quickly spread to nearby buildings due to wind gusts in excess of 45 miles per hour. An Idaho Falls man reported seeing flames coming from the Howe Cafe and immediately notified fire crews who didn’t arrive for another half hour. The flames fully engulfed the cafe, as well as the Little Lost Store and Pancheri’s Cafe across the road. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
