Georgia Knocks Out Florida, 17-9
Published at | Updated at(JACKSONVILLE, Fla.) — No. 10 Georgia (7-1) forced No. 2 Florida (7-1) into six turnovers as the Bulldogs smacked the Gators, 17-9, putting them in the driver seat in the SEC East.
Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones had 13 tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles in the win.
“I had a great game, but it’s about what we did as a defense,” Jones said. “All of us did what we came here to do.”
Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray connected with Malcolm Mitchell on a 45-yard touchdown pass with 7:08 left in the game, to pretty much seal the contest.
If Georgia can win its next two games against Mississippi and Auburn, it will clinch the SEC East and a berth into the SEC championship game.
