The move comes on the heels of three straight losses in which the Yellow Jackets (2-4, 1-3 ACC) allowed 138 points.

“I aimed to give the best that I had every day,” Groh said in a statement. “It’s been an honor to be part of the legacy of Georgia Tech football. I feel positive that this is a good time in life to move on to a new situation.”

Groh, 68, joined Georgia Tech in 2010, after spending nine years as head coach of Virginia. Secondary coach Charles Kelly will take over on an interim basis.
