(IDAHO FALLS) – Idaho law prohibits registered sex offenders from living within 500 feet of schools, but some might be surprised to know that there’s a way around the law. KIDK reports that the law, which was enacted in 2007, does not apply to offenders who lived in their current homes before it went into effect. District 93 officials say it’s much more common than people think, and that there’s a convicted offender living in every school neighborhood. Police say there’s nothing to resolve the issue unless offenders voluntarily move out of the area.
