Idaho Dairy Workers Charged With Animal Cruelty
Published at | Updated at
(BOISE) – Three former employees at Idaho’s largest dairy farm are facing misdemeanor charges after an undercover video showed them brutally mistreating milk cows. The group “Mercy for Animals,” a “vegan-advocacy” organization, filmed the animals being beaten at Bettencourt Dairies’ Dry Creek farm in Hansen. They’re lobbying Kraft Foods to drop its contracts with the dairy. All three men featured in the video have been fired and the dairy’s owner says he’s sickened by what he’s seen. He has since installed cameras in his barns and hired a new supervisor.
