Idaho Falls Clinic Receives Recalled Drug

(IDAHO FALLS) – An Idaho Falls medical clinic recently received a shipment of epidural steroids linked to a nationwide meningitis outbreak. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says Pain Specialists of Idaho on Sunnyside may have infected patients who receive the drug for back pain. The clinic is working with the agency to notify anyone who may be at risk. The outbreak specifically targets patients who received injections after July 1 of this year. Clinic officials say they’re taking the outbreak very seriously. 47 meningitis cases have been linked to the recalled drug nationwide, five of which were fatal.
