The Jets confirmed Holmes was diagnosed with a Lisfranc foot injury on Wednesday.  This is the second Jets player in less than two weeks sidelined for the season. Jets all-pro cornerback Darrelle Revis was the first, last week.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan realizes that injuries happen in football and you have to play with what you are dealt.

“We just have to get better and we will,” Ryan said on Wednesday.  “How many people are going to feel sorry for the New York Jets?  I know the answer to that, nobody.”

The team signed veteran wide receiver Jason Hill to take over for the much-needed roster spot.  Hill had 25 receptions for 367 yards and three touchdowns for the Jaguars last season.

The Jets will play the Texans on Monday night football this week.
