(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims jumped by 4,000 to wrap up the month of September, the Labor Department reported on Thursday.
For the week ending Sept. 29, the number of people filing for benefits rose to 367,000. The previous week, claims stood at 363,000.
The four-week average, meanwhile, remained unchanged at 375,000.
Americans will get a better picture of how the jobs market fared last month when the Labor Department releases its monthly employment report Friday morning.
