(EL SEGUNDO, Calf.) — The Los Angeles Lakers cut ties with center Greg Somogyi and forward Chris Douglas-Roberts on Monday, trimming their preseason roster to 16 players.
The 25-year-old Douglas was originally drafted by the New Jersey Nets in the second round of the 2008 NBA Draft. He was dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2010 before spending last season in Italy.
The 23-year-old Somogyi was signed undrafted, after spending the past four seasons playing college basketball at UC Santa Barbara.
The Lakers tip off the regular season on Oct. 30 at home against the Dallas Mavericks.
