Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had just led his team down the field to take the lead the possession just 19 seconds before Manning connected with Cruz.

“Great rout by Victor (Cruz), great decision, had good protection and was able to put it up there,” said Manning on the big play.  “That was a huge play.”

The Giants improved to 5-2 with the win and have now won three straight games.  Washington could have been tied if they were able to pull out the win but sit at 3-4 in the division.

“Tough one, anytime you score with a couple minutes left in the game, feel like you’ve got momentum going,” said Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan.  “They made some big plays, big credit to them making big plays when they had to.”

Manning was 26 of 40 for 337 yards and a touchdown for New York.  Griffin III was 20 of 28 for 258 yards and two touchdowns.
