Warren Little/Getty Images(FLORHAM PARK, N.J.) — The New York Jets signed tight-end Hayden Smith and released wide receiver Jason Hill on Saturday.

The 27-year-old Smith is a former professional rugby player, having played a few years in England before pursuing a career in the NFL during this past off season. The Jets signed Smith to their practice squad after seeing him in training camp earlier this year.

In three games this season with New York, the 27-year-old Hill had two receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown.
