Arizona will be without their starting quarterback Kevin Kolb after he suffered a rib injury after being sacked in last Sunday’s 19-16 overtime loss to Buffalo.  John Skelton will be the one in charge come Sunday and was 6-2 as a starter last season.

“Both guys have had success,” said head coach Ken Whisenhunt of Skelton.  “We expect John (Skelton) to go in there and do a good job.”

The one person Skelton will have to beware of is Vikings defensive end Jared Allen, who has a sack in each of the last four games, and an NFL-best 26 since the start of last season.

“We have to be very good at first and second down, we have to smash the run and when we have a chance to get after the quarterback we have to get after the quarterback,” Allen said of the challenge the Cardinals present.  “We have to outplay their defense.”

Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder threw a key interception in last Sunday’s 38-26 loss at Washington and knows that the Cardinals will be gunning for him.

“They’re a really good defense,” Ponder said.  “This is going to be a tough challenge for us.  We’re going to have to run the ball really well; it’s going to be a fun one.”
