Packers Receiver Greg Jennings Will Have Surgery
Published at | Updated at(GREEN BAY, Wis.) — Green Bay Packers receiver Greg Jennings will have surgery Tuesday to repair a torn abdominal muscle.
There has been no timetable set on his return, but usually it takes pro athletes three to six weeks to recover from the 25 minute outpatient procedure.
The injury occurred at the end of the Packers’ season opening game versus the 49ers. Jennings missed the next week’s game against the Bears, but returned the following week against the Seahawks. He re-aggravated the injury after catching a touchdown versus the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 30.
Jennings attempted to rehab the injury with treatment and strength work, but he continually felt pain when he trained.
The 29-year-old Jennings has played all seven of his NFL seasons with the Packers. For his career he has 401 receptions, for 6,249 yards and 50 touchdowns.
