(POCATELLO) – The city ofPocatellois looking at a possible new law aimed at granting more legal protections for the gay and transgendered community.  City officials are drafting a law that would make it illegal to discriminate against someone in housing or employment because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Though the measure has growing support, city councilman Craig Cooper says a new law likely won’t fix the problem. He and the rest of the council are seeking a legal opinion from the state Attorney General’s office. They don’t expect to vote on the ordinance for at least another month.
