Amendola suffered a sternoclavicular joint separation in the team’s game against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night. In the second quarter, Amendola was injured in the second quarter while diving in an attempt to make a catch. The recovery from that injury is usually in the six-week range.

“If Danny’s going to miss a game, I’ll discuss it at a time at which I’m sure that he’s going to miss a game,” Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said on Friday.

This is a tough blow to the Amendola and the rest of the Rams. The 26-year old Amendola leads the NFL with 32 catches, and ranks fifth in the NFL with 395 receiving yards. In a team without many dynamic playmakers, Amendola was quarterback Sam Bradford’s main target.

Amendola missed almost all of last season after suffering a dislocated left elbow in the team’s opener.
