Redskins Cut Starting Kicker Cundiff, Sign Forbath

10 9 12%20Redskins?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1349820767109Washington Redskins/NFL(ASHBURN, Va.) — The Washington Redskins cut starting kicker Billy Cundiff on Tuesday and signed former UCLA placekicker Kai Forbath to handle the duties.

In five games this season with Washington, the 32-year-old Cundiff made seven of 12 field goals. He missed four of six field goal attempts in the past two games.

The 25-year-old Forbath was in training camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this summer, and made all five field goal attempts during the preseason. He won the Lou Groza Award in 2009 as the nation’s top college football kicker.
