Report: Gene Hackman Slaps Homeless Guy in Self-Defense

Vera Anderson/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Gene Hackman slapped a homeless man who reportedly approached the veteran actor and his wife in a threatening manner outside a restaurant in Santa Fe, N.M., TMZ reports.
Police sources tell TMZ the incident happened Tuesday as Hackman and his wife were leaving the restaurant. Sources say a homeless person identified as Bruce Becker approached the couple in a threatening manner. Becker allegedly used foul language to insult Betsy Hackman, which prompted the Hollywood star to slap Becker across the face.
After Becker called police to report what happened, Hackman and his wife were interviewed by law enforcement who determined that the slap was in self-defense. No charges were filed by either party.
