Sabathia Undergoes Surgery On His Elbow
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — New York Yankees starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia underwent arthroscopic surgery on Thursday to have a bone spur removed from his left elbow. The surgery was performed in Birmingham, Ala., by Dr. James Andrews.
The left-hander is expected to be ready before the start of next season.
The 32-year-old Sabathia went 15-6 with a 3.38 ERA in 28 starts for the Yankees this year. He struck out 197 batters in 200 innings of work.
