(POCATELLO) – The city of Pocatello is proposing a new law that would end the prohibition of portable signs in front of Old Town businesses.Shop owners tell Local News 8 that they’d like to see a little more leeway when it comes to advertising. Others say the law should expand beyond Old Town to the entire city as a viable means to promote business. Mayor Brian Blad says the new ordinance would be more appropriate for Old Town to encourage shoppers to walk instead of drive. Officials say the current law is out-of-date and largely unenforced.
