Little-used running back Chris Rainey scored on an 11-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter to put the Steelers (3-3) ahead for good.

Inuries to multiple running backs forced Rainey into action and required the Steelers to start Jonathan Dwyer for the first time in his career. He responded by rushing for a career-high 122 yards.

Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 278 yards and a touchdown along with an interception, including a pass to tight end Heath Miller right before halftime that evened the score at 14 after a two-point conversion. “I’m proud of the way those young guys stepped up,” Roethlisberger said.

The Bengals (3-4) got a light passing game from quarterback Andy Dalton, and only one catch from star receiver A.J. Green. “It’s going to be tough to sleep,” Bengals cornerback Leon Hall said. “At the end of the day, we’ve lost three in a row and we’re in a tough spot.”
