As for where iPhones are damaged inside the home, about 20 percent of the accidents occur in the kitchen, with the living room accounting for 18 percent followed by the bathroom at 16 percent, where half the time the phone falls in the toilet.

Speaking of which, water tops the list of liquids that cause iPhones to go on the fritz at 43 percent, with soda next at 19 percent and then beer tied with coffee and tea at 12 percent.

Ever leave your iPhone in the washing machine?  Five percent of the respondents to the SquareTrade survey admit they have.
