(LOS ANGELES) — A pair of NBC actresses will host the Golden Globe Awards in January.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which presents the Globes, announced Monday night that 30 Rock star Tina Fey and Parks and Recreation’s Amy Poehler will emcee the 70th Golden Globe Awards. NBC will air the ceremony live from Beverly Hills on Jan. 13.
The president of the HFPA said in a statement, “The unparalleled comedic timing of Tina and Amy will surely have viewers wanting to tune in to see them in action.”
Fey and Poehler have a long history together. They worked together on Saturday Night Live and in the 2008 film Baby Mama.
Fey has won two Golden Globes for her performance on 30 Rock.
Ricky Gervais hosted the previous three Globes telecasts, courting controversy with his snarky remarks directed at celebrities.
