US Boys Hitting Puberty Sooner

Creatas/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — American boys are maturing sexually at a younger age, according to a recent study reported by MedPage.
Compared to studies of boys’ physicals dating back to the 1930s, American boys were growing pubic hair and had quicker testicular enlargements six months to two years earlier from data collected from 2005 to 2010, according to Marcia Herman-Giddens of the University of North Carolina.
The study was published in Pediatrics and also showed African-Americans entering puberty earlier than Caucasians and Hispanics.
