Beal was the number three pick in this past year’s draft, and also happens to be a St. Louis native. Beal became one of the better players to come out of the area in recent years. Beal took to Twitter to show his support for his home-town Cardinals, and received quite the backlash from the Washington faithful.

“I was hearing threats and everything, like, ‘Watch your back,'” Beal told the Washington Post. “People were like, ‘I’m not going to cheer for you,’ I was like, whatever. It was probably more so the timing, but at the same time, it’s my city. It’s not going to affect the way I play. I got to do something to redeem myself I guess.”

The 19-year old Beal spent just one season at the collegiate level. In his one and only season at Florida, Beal averaged 14.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
