Angels Deal Ervin Santana To The Royals
Published at(ANAHEIM, Calif.) — The Los Angeles Angels dealt starting pitcher Ervin Santana to the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday for minor league pitcher Brandon Sisk. Before dealing the 29-year-old Santana, the Angels picked up his $13 million contract option for next season.
Santana has spent his entire eight-year big league career with the Angels. In 233 starts, he has a record of 96-80 along with a 4.33 ERA. He has struck out 1,167 batters in 1,475 2-3 innings of work.
Santana finished the 2012 campaign 9-13 with a 5.16 ERA while allowing a major league-worst 39 home runs.
Santana tossed a no-hitter against Cleveland in 2011.
