Aqib Talib Traded To Patriots
Published at(NEW YORK) — The New England Patriots acquired cornerback Aqib Talib from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just ahead of the 4 p.m. ET trading deadline on Thursday afternoon.
The Patriots surrendered a fourth-round pick and a seventh-round pick in 2013 draft to complete the deal.
Talib, the 20th overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft from the University of Kansas, currently has one game remaining on a four-game, performance-enhanching-substance-related suspension. Talib said he took an Adderall pill without a prescription at the beginning of training camp.
The Patriots hope Talib will plug holes in their pass defense, which has been one of the worst in the leauge. New England has allowed 281 passing yards per game.
Talib has 18 career interceptions.
