CHI Rose Derrick? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1352818674448NBA via Chicago Bulls(CHICAGO) — The Chicago Bulls are unsure as to when point guard Derrick Rose will return this season, but he is making progress, the team says.

Rose, who suffered a torn ACL in the first round of the playoffs in April, has started to make cuts. That can be interpreted as a major step in the recovery from such a devastating injury.

“He’s doing great,” Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said. “You have to be patient with it. He’s been very diligent, he’s in every day. He’s moving along. He started cutting, he’s been shooting for a while now, he feels pretty good so we just have to be patient.”

Even though there is still no timetable for Rose’s return, Thibodeau and the rest of the Bulls organization is confident that he’s well on his way to making a full recovery.

“It’s the next step for him,” Thibodeau said. “Everything is going according to plan; he’s not ahead of schedule, he’s not behind schedule, he’s exactly where he should be.”

Through seven games, the Bulls have gone 4-3 without the 2010-2011 league MVP.
