Charlotte Fire Building Permits May Not Be Waived

  Published at  | Updated at

(POCATELLO) – Bannock County Commissioners will meet next month to determine whether or not to waive building permit fees for victims of the Charlotte Fire.

The Idaho State Journal reports commissioners haven’t finalized on a course of action yet, but officials say it’s unlikely that they will.

Building permits for fire victims have cost an average of $2,200 per dwelling. Officials say they’ve already done enough to assist those in need, including a $2 million hydro-seeding project to preserve the burnt hillsides south of Pocatello.
