(NEW YORK) — Dave Matthews Band is the latest musical artist to announce a monetary donation towards recovery efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy — and it’s a biggie.
DMB is pledging $1 million to the cause, and is turning its November 30 winter tour opener in East Rutherford, New Jersey into a benefit concert. Tickets for the show are now on sale via Ticketmaster.com.
All proceeds from the show, including money from ticket sales and merchandise, will go to the Bama Works Sandy Relief Fund, an offshoot of the DMB’s own charitable organization. The fund has been set up at the Community Foundation of New Jersey to support the ongoing relief and recovery efforts in the wake of the storm.
