(NEW YORK) — President Obama’s campaign strategist David Axelrod has made an even bigger dare to shave off the mustache he’s worn for 40 years, and this one has nothing to do with the early bet on the election.
Axelrod didn’t shave his signature mustache because Republicans didn’t take the three states — Michigan, Minnesota and Pennsylvania — they were claiming. But Thursday morning Axelrod tweeted that he will shave it, live on television, if donors contribute $1 million to the group CURE Epilepsy, which he and his wife co-founded.
Axelrod’s daughter, Lauren, is a young adult suffering from the effects of the disease.
