DH David Ortiz Agrees to New Contract with Red Sox
Published at(BOSTON) — Designated hitter David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox agreed to a new two-year contract on Monday. The deal is worth at least $26 million, according to ESPNBoston.com.
This past season, the 36-year-old Ortiz batted .318 with 23 home runs and 60 RBIs in 90 games played. He missed all but one game after suffering a strained right Achilles on July 16th.
Oritz won two World Series championships with the Red Sox, in 2004 and 2007.
