(OAKLAND, Calif.) — Rookie running back Doug Martin rushed for a franchise-record 251 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 42-32 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
“The way Doug’s breaking tackles and having that top-end speed to make people miss is exceptional,” Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman said.
Martin had touchdown runs of 70, 67, 45 and 1, and was 45 yards shy of tying Adrian Peterson’s single-game record of 296 yards.
Josh Freeman completed 18 of 30 passes for two touchdowns in the win.
Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer threw for 414 yards and four touchdowns in the loss.
The Buccaneers (4-4) return home next weekend to take on the Chargers, while the Raiders (3-5) take a trip to Baltimore to take on the Ravens.
