Ed Reed Gets One-Game Suspension
Published at(NEW YORK) — Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed has been suspended one game by the NFL.
The 34-year-old Reed hit Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Emmanuel Sanders in his head and neck in a Sunday night football game.
The hit will wind up costing Reed his game check of $423,529. He has three days to appeal the suspension.
Reed was hit with an unnecessary roughless penalty when he hit Sanders in the third quarter of the game. The league announced that it was his third violation of rules that protect defenseless receivers.
